Marlin Tyre and Mechanical Workshop Software's integration with the Marlin mobile app enables technicians to track and update their daily tasks.

The main Marlin mobile window shows a list of Open Planner Tasks that have been added to the GTX Business Planner for a selected date, which is shown at the top right.

For a booking to appear in the mobile app's Planner Tasks list, it needs to:

Mobile Planner Tasks

By default, the Open Planner Tasks list will show a list of planner tasks for the current date.

Other dates can be viewed by tapping on the calendar icon at the top right of the window and using the calendar that appears to select another date.

Tip

The Task List's contents can be refreshed by swiping downwards on the app screen.

Note

The Planner Tasks list can be returned to from any of the other Marlin mobile modules by:

  • Tapping on the <- button at the top of the mobile app window
  • Tapping on the back button on your phone

Planner Task Details

Tapping on a task will show a summary of the order details.

Specific Order Detail lines can be viewed by clicking on the Lines drop-down menu or the Lines button at the top of the screen.

Tip

If a task's details are updated and saved in GTX, they can be refreshed in the app by swiping downwards on the app screen.

Commencing and Completing Planner Tasks

To commence a task:

  • Tap on the Commence Planner Task button at the bottom
  • The task's status will update to Work Being Performed

The button will then change to Complete Planner Task, which can be tapped again to mark the task as completed.

Completed tasks are marked in the GTX Planner by a green C icon in the Status column.

Planner Task Statuses

Task statuses can also be changed by tapping on the ^ button to the right of the Commence or Complete Planner Task button.

A pop-up menu will open, from which the appropriate status can be selected:

  • On Hold will change its status to Authorisation Required in the Marlin GTX desktop program
  • Abandon Planner Task will return the task's status to Vehicle Received

Additional information about statuses can be seen by hovering over the icons in the Status column of the GTX Business Planner.

Held, completed or abandoned planner tasks can be resumed by re-opening them from the Planner Task list and tapping on the Commence Planner Task button again.

Task Notes

Although remark lines can be viewed in the Marlin mobile app, they cannot currently be added or edited.

However, notes can be both viewed and edited from within the app by tapping on the Notes heading within a planner task.

Notes can be added and edited by tapping on the Edit Notes button at the top of the Notes section.

Notes entered using the Marlin mobile app will appear in the Notes column of the Planner, as well as the Notes section at the bottom-right of the Edit Booking pop-up.

Planner Task Attachments

Attachments can also be added to bookings by tapping on the Attachments heading within a planner task.

To add an attachment:

  • Tap on the +Attachment button
  • Select the appropriate option:
    • Select the Attachment Type
    • Enter a Description
    • Tap Send
Note

Attachments cannot currently be viewed from within the Marlin mobile app.
