Article summary

To view, add or customise Leave Types, select System > Leave Types from the Marlin HR menu.

Shown below is a list of typical Leave Types, each with the typically selected settings.

Note

Only "accruable" leave types should be created as a leave type. Other leave types that are either unpaid or are only available to the employee under particular circumstances, should not be created as a leave type and do not require a leave entry to be entered when the employee takes that leave. These will be paid as an earnings type which can be added to an initialised pay run.

Note

The settings shown above are examples only and may be different to your requirements. We strongly recommend that you check with your employer organisation or tax accountant for the correct settings for your workplace.

Example

You may or may not wish to print Long Service Leave or Personal Leave on Pay Advices, or to maintain an accounting accrual for Personal Leave in your General Ledger.
