Marlin GTX enables fast lookup and management of cash customers, vehicle owners, vehicles, and related transaction history.
The AutoTracker provides owner and vehicle details along with full transaction history.
It enables:
- Multiple owners to be associated with a single vehicle
- Single owners to be associated with multiple vehicles
This can be useful for:
- Company vehicles brought in by different staff members
- Households where multiple vehicles are owned by different family members
The AutoTracker also enables follow-ups and marketing activities without requiring customers to set up an account.
The AutoTracker can be accessed when adding Business Planner bookings, Work Orders and Invoices or using the seperate AutoTracker Enquiry module.
Adding AutoTracker Customers
Customers are added to the auto tracker when their details are saved on a Business Planner booking or Work Order/Invoice.
Business Planner
When adding a booking, click on the Search button at the top of the Add Booking pop-up to open the autotracker.

In the AutoTracker pop-up that opens:
- Click the New Person button on the left
(Or, search for and select an existing one)

You will be returned to the Add Booking window with the AutoTracker button activated.

Enter the customer's details in the New Person section below:
- These Details will be added to the AutoTracker when the booking is saved and can be selected again on future orders
Additional details of saved/selected customers can be viewed and edited by clicking on the AutoTracker button to the top right.


Always click Search before entering a customer's details, if you want to save them in the AutoTracker.
If you add the details to the booking window before clicking Search the customer's details will not be saved and you will have to enter them again.
The Customer selector at the bottom of the Business Planner and on the right of Work Order and Invoice entry forms is for selecting account customers and should be left/set as 1 - Cash Customer when selecting AutoTracker customers.
A prompt may appear asking whether an owner or vehicle already exists.
Selecting the correct option ensures AutoTracker returns accurate results.
Work Orders and Invoices
AutoTracker customers can also be added from Work Orders and Invoices, by clicking on the Owner icon at the top-right.

The AutoTracker pop-up will open.

To add a new customer:
- Click the New Person button on at the bottom right
(Or, search for and select an existing one)
Another AutoTracker pop-up will open, which can be used to add and save the customer details.

Follow-Ups and SMS
If enabled, follow-ups and 2-way SMS can also be accessed from the AutoTracker, by clicking on the relevant tabs at the top of the customer pop-up window.

AutoTracker Enquiry
Independent AutoTracker searches can also be performed using the AutoTracker Equiry module, accessed selecting Main > Enquiries > AutoTracker from the menu bar.

AutoTracker searches are split into owner and vehicle searches at the top and invoice searches at the bottom.

The AutoTracker can search by:
- Registration number
- Customer name
- Mobile number
- Vehicle make or model
- Street name or suburb
Results can also be filtered by owner, registration no., or vehicle using the checkboxes at the top.
To search:
- Enter the search terms in the Search For field
- Press Enter or click Refresh
Searching by mobile number is usually the fastest option
AutoTracker searches do not include account customers.
Search Results
Search results will display in the relevant section.

Double-click a result to open the detailed AutoTracker view.

Use the tabs at the top left to switch between owners and vehicles.

Additional information about Transactions, Bookings, Open Orders, Attachments and Inspections is can also be viewed by clicking on the tabs at the bottom.

Editing Owner Information
Customer or Vehicle details can be updated by clicking on the Edit button at the bottom left of their AutoTracker file.

The edit window also provides access to follow-ups and SMS messaging, if a valid mobile number is associated with the customer.
