Marlin GTX shows different access modes on the Login window, advising whether the system is operational or restricted.

The system's current access mode is displayed on the GTX Login window, above where you enter your password.
Active
Active is the normal mode for an operational GTX system; all functions should be available.
Read Only
If the Access Mode is Read Only, you will be able to view and perform queries on the data but not enter any new transactions.
This normally occurs:
- In run down systems (after a company change-over, owners can specify a number of months during which they can enter transactions to finalise the business, before GTX goes into Read Only mode)
- In datasets from previous years (opened using different icons or Start menu entries than your main/current GTX system)
Single Computer Read Only
A Read Only access mode on only a single computer is likely due to someone accidentally setting the date incorrectly on that computer.
If the date is incorrect:
- Reset it to the correct date
- Restart GTX on that computer
If it is still in Read Only mode, please contact the Megabus Support team.
All Computers Read Only
If GTX is in Read Only mode on all computers:
- Reset the date on the master PC, if incorrect.
- Check the License Expiry Date and contact Megabus if expired
- Check that Megalink is running on the master PC (User 1) (see below)
Megalink Activation Code Required
If Megalink has not been active for 30 days, GTX will go into Read Only mode on all computers until it is restarted or Megabus provides an Activation Code.

If Megalink is not running, the Megalink status tab at the bottom right of the GTX window will be red.
To restart Megalink:
- Double-click on the Megalink icon on the Windows desktop on the Master PC (User 1)
- Enter the password
Within a minute or so, the Megalink indicator should become grey, as usual, and GTX will return to active mode.
If not, please contact the Megabus Support team.
