Marlin GTX provides a flexible pricing structure that controls how products are priced and sold to customers.
Product prices are applied automatically when orders and invoices are created.
They are managed using product sell prices, customer defaults and optional pricing rules such as discounts and promotions.

Product Sell Prices
Product sell prices are defined using the Prices section of its Product Maintenance file (Main > Customers > Manage Customers).

Each product includes at least a Retail and Wholesale price:
- Additional sell price fields may be available depending on system configuration
- Sell prices may include or exclude tax based on system-wide settings
Editable Sell Prices
Products can be configured to allow their sell prices to be edited on orders and invoices, by ticking the Edit Sell Price checkbox in Product Maintenance.

Default Customer Prices
Each customer is assigned a default sell price type (i.e. Retail or Wholesale) using the Normal Sell Price field in their Customer Maintenance file (Main > Customers > Manage Customers).

This determines which product price is used for theirorders and invoices.
Order Prices
Product prices appear in the Sell column on work orders and invoices.

If the product's sell price is editable, prices it can can be edited by clicking in the Sell column and entering the new price.
Whether prices include or exclude tax is indicated in the column heading.
See the Sell Prices help guide.
Markups
Markup configuration can be managed by selecting System > System Files > Products > Markup Groups and Markup Sets from the menu bar.

Marlin GTX enables automatic price calculations using markups.
Markups apply either a fixed amount or a percentage to a product cost:
- Markup rules are defined using markup groups, which control how prices are calculated based on cost type, cost ranges and rounding behaviour
- Markup groups are combined into markup sets, which link markup rules to specific price types (such as retail or wholesale)
Markup sets can then be assigned to individual products, product groups or product supergroups to apply pricing consistently across similar items
Once assigned, markup pricing is applied automatically when products are added to orders and invoices.
See the Price Markups help guide.
In centralised systems, markup configuration and assignment are managed at head office.
