Marlin GTX enables you to create and apply rules to control which products or services can be sold to particular customers.
The Sales Restrictions module enables you to enter rules regarding which products or services your store can or cannot sell to particular customers.
For example, the restriction in the example below prevents you from selling batteries to customers that have this restriction applied to them.
You could also set up the restriction so that batteries were the only product that you could sell to a customer.
If necessary, you could set up a particular customer in the system twice, once as a 30-day customer and again as a 90-day customer.
You could then apply different sales restrictions to each.
This functionality requires system switches to be set.

Create a Sales Restriction
**To add a sales restriction: **
- Select System > System Files > Customers > Sales Restrictions from the Marlin toolbar.
Click on the Add button (green +) to add a new restriction.
Enter a Code and Name for the new sales restriction.
Select whether the products you will add are allowed or not allowed to be sold.
Click on the Add button (green +) to add products to the sales restriction.
On the popup, select whether you wish to apply the restriction to a Product Group or a Product Code and then select it from the drop down list.
Click on Save to save this Product or Product Group to the sales restriction.
Repeat the previous step until all products have been added and then click on the Save icon at the top of screen to save the sales restriction.
Apply Sales Restriction to a Customer
To apply the new sales restriction to a customer:
Open the customer in Manage Customers and go to the Options tab.
Select the sales restriction from the drop down list on the Sales Restrict field, then Save.

On an invoice, if you select a product that is not allowed under a sales restriction, the following warning will pop up and the product line will be cleared when you click on the OK button.
