Marlin Tyre and Mechanical Workshop Software enables EFT types to be restricted for different eftpos terminals.
If a branch has multiple eftpos terminals that handle different EFT types (for example, one terminal for Amex), you can set each terminal to show only the EFT types it accepts.
All EFT types are connected to and controlled by a bank account within Marlin.
EFT types can be restricted for different EFT terminals using their Bank Account master files, which can be accessed by selecting Master Files > Accounts > Bank Accounts from the menu bar.

These restrictions do not affect credit providers.
Restricting EFT Types

To restrict EFT types:
- Open the bank account that the terminal is connected to in Edit mode
- Tick the Restrict EFT Types checkbox
This limits the EFT Types available, for all terminals connected to that bank account, to only those the list below.
An EFT type can therefore be unrestricted for all connected terminals by adding them to the EFT Types list.
Unrestricted EFT Types

To add an unrestricted EFT type:
- Click the Add button at the top-right of the EFT Types list
- Use the picker that appears to select the EFT type
- Add Surcharges and Merchant Fees as required by typing in the relevant cell
- Leave the Active checkbox ticked
- Click Save at the top-right of the module window
Since Marlin is only an accounting record, terminals may still accept payments from any card, including restricted types.
Deactivating EFT Types
To deactivate an added EFT type:
- Untick the Active checkbox to deactivate that EFT type for all connected terminals
- Or select it in the list and click Delete
Reactivating EFT Types

To reactivate a deactivated EFT type:
- Change the list filter to show Inactive or All EFT types
- Tick the Active checkbox for the relevant EFT type
