As part of the Payday Superannuation reform, the ATO’s Small Business Superannuation Clearing House (SBSCH) will close on 1 July 2026.

After 1 October 2025:

  • Only existing users will continue to have access to the SBSCH until 30 June 2026.
  • New employers and users will no longer be able to sign up.

Most super funds now provide a clearing house service to employers, with registration available on their websites.

What This Means for Marlin HR

For years, HR users have been generating SuperStream-compliant payment files in Marlin HR and uploading them to the clearing house of their choice.

This process is the same as uploading wages bank files for online banking and is more efficient than the SBSCH, which required manual data entry and did not support file uploads.

This approach has also been a reliable and compliant solution for customers since SuperStream’s introduction eight years ago.

There will be no developments to integrate Marlin HR directly with banks or clearing houses at this stage.

For help using the SuperStream functionality in Marlin HR, see the SuperStream help guide.
