Marlin GTX enables you to add standard remarks on orders and invoices.
You can type a free-form remark or select a Standard Remark from the drop-down list on orders and invoices.
Standard Remarks are saved remarks frequently used on orders and invoices:
- They can be selected from a list rather than manually keyed in every time
- They can also be associated with products or packages so that the remarks automatically appear on orders and invoices whenever they are added to an order
Standard Remarks can be viewed and edited by selecting System > System Files > Standard Remarks from the menu bar.

Adding Standard Remarks

To add a new Standard Remark:
- Click on the Add button at the top of Standard Remarks Maintenance

In the Add Standard Remark window that opens:
- Enter a Code to identify the remark
- Tick the Active checkbox to enable it in your system
- Enter the remark Text in the textbox below
- Click Save
Adding Remarks to Orders and Invoices

To add a remark to a Line Details list:
- Click on the Add button at the top of the list
- Select Add Remark Line
- Alternatively, click in the Product line and press F2 on the keyboard

To enter a free-form remark:
- Click in the remark line that appears and type your comment
To enter a Standard Remark:
- Click on the Magnifying Glass at the far right of the remark line
- Use the pop-up that opens to select the Standard Remark

Once a Standard Remark is added to the list, it can be edited by clicking and typing in the relevant line, if required.

Product and Package Remarks
You can add Standard Remarks to products or packages that will be automatically added to and printed on orders and invoices whenever they are selected.
Adding Standard Remarks to Products

To add a Standard Remark to a Product:
- Select Main > Products > Manage Products from the menu bar
- Open the relevant product in Edit mode
- Click on the Options tab at the top
- Use the Standard Remark picker to select a remark
- Click Save
Each time this product is added to a details list, the selected remark will be automatically inserted as well.
Adding Standard Remarks to Packages

To add a Standard Remark to a Package:
- Select System > System Files > Products > Package Maintenance from the menu bar
- Open the relevant package in Edit mode
- Click on the Add button at the top of the Package Line Details list at the bottom of the Details tab
- Select Insert Standard Remark Line(s)
- Use the pop-up that opens to select the Standard Remark

Once added, the remark can also be edited by double-clicking on it and using the pop-up that opens.

Each time this package is added to a details list, the selected remark will be automatically inserted as well.
