Marlin GTX enables customer payments to be added and allocated using the Receipts module.
The Receipts module can be accessed by selecting Main > Data Entry > Receipts from the menu bar.

Adding Receipts
The module will open on the Enter receipt window.

To add receipts:
- Click New Receipt on the right toolbar
- Select the Customer
- The outstanding balance and overdue balance summary are shown at the top-right
- Enter the Amount Received
- Enter Merchant Fee and GST Amount, if applicable
- Select the Salesperson
- Enter a Comment, if required
Use the Line Details list below to allocate the payment against outstanding transactions by entering values in the Receipt Allocation column.

To allocate the remaining receipt amount, click in the relevant Receipt Allocation field and press Enter.
Once the unallocated balance is $0, click Finalise and confirm.
Use the Sort icon to sort transactions by date
Automatic Allocation
Receipts can be automatically allocated by clicking on the Auto Allocate icon at the top of the details list and selecting:
- Auto to apply receipts and unallocated credits from oldest to newest
- Oldest to allocate only the entered receipt amount from oldest first
- Age Code to allocate within a selected overdue range

Confirm the allocation and finalise the receipt.
Unallocated Receipts
Unallocated receipts can be added when it is unclear which invoices a payment should be applied to.

To add an unallocated receipt:
- Add the receipt as usual
- Click Finalise
- Confirm Yes when prompted about the unallocated amount
- Click Finalise again
- Enter and confirm the payment method
The payment will remain on the customer account until it is allocated later.
Allocating Unallocated Receipts
Unallocated receipts can be allocated at a later date.

To allocate unallocated receipts:
- Select the Customer
- Enable Show All Open Entries
- Locate the receipt with a non-zero balance
- Enter allocation amounts in the Receipt Allocation column against the relevant invoices

When fully allocated, both the receipt and invoice balances will display $0
