Adjustment Leave entries are processed on [Adjustment Pays](/hr/docs/adjustment-runs) and have two purposes:

* To enable an employee to be paid out for some leave rather than take it as time off (i.e. cash-in some leave). This ensures that it doesn't impact the employee's normal work hours and normal pay. Please see [Cashing-Out Leave](/hr/docs/caching-out-leave).
* To correct something in a previous pay.

:::(Info) (Example)

* You paid an employee for some leave but then he worked for part or all of that leave period;
* You paid an employee for work hours but were later advised that he had some time off during that pay period (eg. sick days or annual leave days);
* You paid an employee for some annual leave but he later produced doctor's certificate(s) showing that he was sick during the leave period.

:::

Please see [Pay Run Corrections](/hr/docs/pay-run-corrections) for step by step guidance on how to process these situations.
