# Trade Portal Products

**{{variable.GTX.bold}}** enables trade portal product configuration.

Trade portals require specific product configuration before products can be published.

Products need [brands](/gtx/docs/trade-portal-products#brands) and [web categories](/gtx/docs/trade-portal-products#product-web-categories) configured.

They then need to be marked for [web publishing](/gtx/docs/trade-portal-products#publishing-products).

If multiple [product locations](/gtx/docs/trade-portal-products#product-locations) are enabled, each location also needs to be marked for web publishing.

### Product Brands

**Brands** must be configured before products can be published to a trade portal.

**To set up brands:**

* Open Brand Maintenance (System > System Files > Products > Product Brands)
* **{{glossary.Add}}** any additional brands, as required

### Product Web Categories

**Product web categories** must be configured before products can be assigned to them.

Product web categories can be viewed and edited by selecting **System > System Files > Products > Product Web Categories** from the menu bar.

**To add a new product web category:**

* Click the **{{glossary.Add}}** button at the top of the module window

In the **Add Web Category** window that opens:

* Enter **Code** and **Name**
* Click **{{glossary.Save}}**

### Publishing Products

Products must be **individually configured** to be available in a trade portal.

**To publish a product:**

* Open **Product Maintenance** (Main > Products > Manage Products)
* **{{glossary.Add}}** or **{{glossary.Edit}}** the relevant product
* Click the **Web Fields** tab at the top

In the **Web Fields** tab:

* Tick the **Web Publish** checkbox
* Select the relevant **Web Category Code** from the drop-down
* Optionally:
    * Enter a short **Description** 
(if blank the general [product maintenance file description](https://help.megabus.com.au/gtx/docs/products-maintenance#description-and-handling) will be used)
    * Enter a longer description in the **Story** section below

**Note:** The HTML section below can also be used to edit the Story description's online appearance (or hidden, by unticking Show HTML in the Story toolbar).

> [Bulk File Maintenance](/gtx/docs/bulk-file-maintenance) can be used to update the web fields of multiple products at once.

### Product Locations

If product locations are configured, each location must be individually enabled for a trade portal.

Product locations are accessed via **System > System Files > Products > Locations**.

**To publish a stock location:**

* Open the relevant stock location in **{{glossary.Edit}}** mode
* Tick the **Web Publish** checkbox
