# Time & Attendance Overview

Time and Attendance Feature

This advanced [time and attendance](https://help.megabus.com.au/gtx/docs/time-and-attendance) feature is only available in **GTX 5.7.1** and later.

To **upgrade your system to the latest version**, please [contact the megabus support team](https://www.megabus.com.au/support).

**Marlin GTX**'s Time and Attendance functionality enables businesses to keep track of staff attendance and availability.

Attendance expectations and availabilities are based on schedules, which can be added using the new [Schedules](/gtx/docs/schedules) module.

Salespeople and technicians can then be associated with Resources, Schedules and Explicit Availabilities, as required, using the new [Staff](/gtx/docs/staff) list.

Once staff members have been associated with the appropriate schedules they can record their attendance, including clocking on, clocking off and taking breaks, using the [Attendance Entry](/gtx/docs/attendance-entry) module.

Attendance records can then be viewed using the [Attendance Activity Report](/gtx/docs/attendance-activity-reports).

Attendance records can also be viewed and edited by users with the appropriate permissions, using the new [Attendance Maintenance](/gtx/docs/attendance-maintenance) module.

All of these modules are **covered in more detail in their individual help guides**, which can be accessed by clicking on the links in the menu on the left (or the Contents men at the top on mobile).

Tip

Staff attendance can be recorded across all terminals on a network, or a single, dedicated attendance terminal can be set up, which staff can use to clock in and out on entering and exiting the workplace.

Note

**Salespeople Passwords are required for Time and Attendance functionality**. If you do not have Salespeople Passwords enabled, please [contact the Megabus Support Team](https://www.megabus.com.au/support).

## Time and Attendance – Phase 2

****Marlin GTX**** [5.8.1](/gtx/docs/gtx-581) introduces a number of enhancements to Time and Attendance functionality, including the ability to:

- Share attendance reports with linked Marlin HR systems
- Request adjustments to attendance activity
- Add notes to individual attendance events
- Add notes to staff members
- Finalise and cancel attendance events
- Integrate with the Marlin app

See the [T&A Phase Two](/gtx/docs/ta-2) help guide for a full overview of these new features.

## Time and Attendance Permissions

Who can clock on/off staff members can be controlled by setting appropriate [password group permissions](https://help.megabus.com.au/gtx/docs/password-groups), which can be accessed by selecting **System > Passwords > Password Groups** from the menu bar.

**Edit** the relevant login groups and adjust their permissions accordingly.
