# Sell Prices

**Marlin GTX** provides a robust and flexible pricing structure, enabling different sell prices to be set up for each product and assigned to different customers.

**Basic pricing structure and process:**

- [Enter sell prices](/gtx/docs/sell-prices#product-sell-prices) in **Product Maintenance** Details tab
  - [To make the prices editable](/gtx/docs/sell-prices#editable-sell-prices) on orders and invoices, click **Edit Sell Price** checkbox
- [Set the default sell price](/gtx/docs/sell-prices#default-customer-prices) for each customer in their **Customer Maintenance** file
- If editable, can [change prices on orders](/gtx/docs/sell-prices#order-prices) by clicking in the **Sell** column

[Price Markups](/gtx/docs/price-markups), [Customer Discounts](/gtx/docs/customer-discounts), [Special Prices](/gtx/docs/special-prices) and [Promotions](/gtx/docs/promotion-set-up) can also be set up to automatically calculate more complex and variable pricing structures.

See the relevant **help guides** (linked above) for further information.

## Product Sell Prices

A product's basic prices are determined by the **Prices** section, in the top-right of their [Product Maintenance](/gtx/docs/products-maintenance) file's Details tab.

By default, a **Retail** and a **Wholesale** price can be entered for each product.

Note

Different franchises may have different pricing fields set up in their system.

Whether each sell price type includes tax or not is controlled by a system-wide setting, determined during initial set up.

If tax settings need to be changed, please [contact the Megabus Support Team](https://www.megabus.com.au/support).

### Additional Sell Price Fields

Up to four additional, custom Price fields can be added to each GTX system.

To add or edit the available sell prices, please [contact the Megabus Support Team](https://www.megabus.com.au/support).

Tip

Alternatively, users with appropriate permissions can manually add and edit sell price fields by selecting **Tools > Options** from the menu bar, to open the Options Maintenance module, and clicking on the **Messages and Filed Names** tab.

### Default Customer Prices

The default Price for each customer is set using the **Normal Sell price** drop-down in the Pricing section on the right of their [Customer Maintenance](https://help.megabus.com.au/gtx/docs/account-customers) file's Options tab.

### Editable Sell Prices

Whether a product's sell prices can be edited on work orders and invoices is controlled using the **Edit** sell price checkbox in the General section on the left of their Details tab.

## Order Prices

Product prices are shown in the **Sell** column of work order and invoice Line Details Lists.

Whether the price includes or excludes tax is shown as either **(Inc)** or **(Ex)** in the column heading.

If the sell price is [editable](/gtx/docs/sell-prices#editable-sell-prices), it can be changed by clicking in the **Sell** column and entering the new price.

Tip

Additional product pricing details can be viewed by clicking on the **Show** details button at the end of the relevant product line or pressing **ctrl+p** on the keyboard.

## Price Calculations

The specific calculations determining each price cannot be viewed in in the **Work Orders** or **Invoices** modules.

However, the specific calculations determining the priced for each product can be viewed in the [Product Search](/gtx/docs/product-search) module.

**To view pricing calculations:**

- Select the product in the Product Search list
- Click on the **{{glossary.Show Details}}** button (F2) at bottom-right, if not already visible
- The pricing calculations are shown in the middle section of the **Details** panel

Tip

The Product Search module can be accessed from within work orders and invoices by clicking on the **Product Search** button at the top of the Line Details list.
