# Menu Bar
**{{variable.GTX Bold}}'s** various modules and functions can be accessed using the main menu bar, located at the top of the application window.
## Favourites Menu
The **Favourites** menu provides access to user-defined shortcuts, recently used programs and saved external links.
**The Favourites menu contains:**
* **Organise Favourites:** Manage shortcuts to frequently used programs
* **Recent:** Open recently accessed programs
* **Weblinks:** Open saved external website links

## Main Menu
The **Main** menu provides access to all core record types, including customers, products, suppliers, accounts and staff.
**The Main menu contains:**
* **Data Entry:** Access transaction and data entry screens
* **Enquiries:** Run record and transaction searches
* **Customers:** Customer records and related modules
* **Suppliers:** Supplier records and related modules
* **Products:** Product records and related modules
* **Accounts:** Account and GL records and related modules
* **Staff:** Staff records and related modules
* **Contacts:** Contact records and related modules
* **Exit:** Close the program

## Reports Menu
**The Reports menu provides access to all stock, sales, accounting and activity reporting functions.**
**The Reports menu contains:**
* **Report Keeper:** Access saved report templates
* **Stock Reports:** Generate reports on stock and inventory
* **Sales Reports:** Generate sales-related reports
* **Job Times Reports:** Generate labour time reports
* **Purchases Reports:** Generate supplier purchase reports
* **AutoTracker Reports:** Generate vehicle tracking reports
* **General Ledger Reports:** Generate accounting reports
* **Audit Trails:** View change history and audit data
* **Print Register Reports:** Reprint previously issued documents
* **Business Activity Statement:** Prepare BAS export figures
* **Periodic Reports:** Generate scheduled reports
* **Attendance:** View staff attendance data

## Periodic Menu
The **Periodic** menu includes month-end processing and banking register access.
**The Periodic menu contains:**
* **End of Period:** Perform end-of-period close-offs
* **Banking Register:** View and reconcile bank deposits

## System Menu
The **System** menu enables access to reference files, program preferences, printer settings and password management.
**The System menu contains:**
* **System Files:** Access configuration and maintenance files
* **Options:** Change global preferences
* **Printers:** Configure output printers
* **Passwords:** Maintain login passwords and access levels

## Tools Menu
The **Tools** menu provides administrative and data maintenance tools, including backup, reconciliation and year-end utilities.
**The Tools menu contains:**
* **Active Users:** View current logins
* **Active Locks:** View records currently locked for update
* **Balance Recalculators:** Recalculate balances for selected tables
* **Create Opening Balances:** Initialise opening balances
* **Bulk Table Operations:** Perform batch updates or clear-downs
* **Reconciliation Reports:** Generate reconciliation reports and audits
* **Program Updates:** Check for and apply program updates
* **Backups:** Perform manual database backups
* **Special Utility Program:** Run one-off utility actions
* **End of Year Data Setup:** Prepare the system for a new financial year
* **Create Previous Year Icons:** Generate shortcuts for previous year datasets
* **Open Cash Drawer:** Trigger an attached cash drawer to open
* **Calculator:** Launch the internal calculator tool
* **Attachment Manager:** Manage file attachments

## Window Menu
The **Window** menu displays all open windows and enables you to quickly switch between currently open programs.

Open modules can also be quickly switched between using the **navigation tabs** at the bottom of the application window.

## Help Menu
The **Help** menu provides links to online help, support utilities and licence tools.
**The Help menu contains:**
* **Marlin Inform:** Open the current help documentation site
* **Legacy Marlin Inform:** Open the legacy documentation site
* **Log a Support Call:** Submit a support request
* **Download Supplier Catalogues:** Download the latest supplier data files
* **Download TeamViewer:** Install the remote support client
* **License Activation:** View and update licence status
* **About Marlin GTX:** View version and registration details
