# Megabus Hosted Servers (MHS)

**Megabus Hosted Servers** enables users to connect to the Marlin environment using a a secure remote desktop shortcut.

These connections can be set up on both [Windows](/gtx/docs/logging-into-mhs#windows) and [Macintosh](/gtx/docs/logging-into-mhs#mac-osx) computers.

## Windows

**To access the Remote Desktop Portal:**

- Go to  [https://hosting.marlin.megabus.com.au/RDWeb/Pages/en-US/login.aspx](https://hosting.marlin.megabus.com.au/RDWeb/Pages/en-US/login.aspx)
- Enter the **credentials provided to you by Megabus**
- Click **Sign In**

### Remote Desktop Shortcut

**To download Remote Desktop Shortcut:**

- Click on the icon labelled **Marlin Hosting**
- This will download a Remote Desktop shortcut named **cpub-DC-DC-CmsRdsh.rdp**  

**Note:** Once downloaded, the shortcut can be **renamed**, if preferred.

### Launching Remote Desktop Connection

**To launch the remote desktop connection:**

- **Double-click** the downloaded **shortcut**
- You will be prompted to **enter your credentials again**
- Use the **same password** that you used to sign in to the website

### Changing Your Password

**After logging in for the first time** using the auto-generated password:

- Press **Ctrl + Alt + End** on the keyboard
- Select **Change a Password**
- Enter a new password that meets the following requirements:
  - Minimum of **8 characters**
  - At least **1 uppercase** character
  - At least **1 number**
  - At least **1 special** character

## Mac OSX

You can connect to MHS and DC on Mac, using the **Microsoft App**, which is available free from the [Apple App Store](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/windows-app/id1295203466?mt=12).

Warning

The Macintosh remote connection environment is **not officially supported by Megabus**.

Note

**Unsupported Clients:**

- Microsoft Remote Desktop **bundled with Microsoft Office 2011**
- **CoRD** (an alternative RDP client for macOS)

### Installing the Microsoft App

**To install remote desktop for mac:**

- Follow [this link](https://apps.apple.com/app/microsoft-remote-desktop/id1295203466?mt=12) to download the app, or
- Open the **App Store** from the Applications folder (or Apple menu > App Store)
- Search for **Microsoft App**
- Click **Get** to download and install

**Once installed:**

- The Microsoft App will appear in the **Applications** folder
- Optionally, drag the icon to the **Dock** for quicker access

### Adding the MHS Workspace

**Open the Microsoft App**:

- Click the **+** button at the top-right
- Select **Add Workspace**

**In the Add Workspace pop-up:**

- Enter **hosting.marlin.megabus.com.au**
- Click **Add**

**When prompted, enter the provided login credentials**:

- **Username:** marlin\ followed by your user name
- **Password:** Provided by Megabus

The connection will be available from the main Microsoft App **Device** interface:

- **Double-click** to open
- **Enter credentials** again, if required

## Expired Passwords

If your password has expired, it can be reset by going to [https://hosting.marlin.megabus.com.au/RDWeb/Pages/en-US/login.aspx](https://hosting.marlin.megabus.com.au/RDWeb/Pages/en-US/login.aspx)

Enter your credentials and click **Sign In**.

If it says **your password has expired**:

- Click on the **Here** link to reset it.

Use the form on the page that opens to **change your password**.
