# Logging In

****Marlin GTX**** can be launched as a desktop application on any licensed workstation.

****Marlin GTX**** may be accessed using one of the following methods:

- A **desktop icon**
- A **taskbar icon**
- The **Windows Start Menu**  (Start > All Programs > Megabus > Marlin GTX)

The **Login Window** will open.

Enter a **valid password** to access the system.

Permissions and available modules are determined by the [password group](/gtx/docs/password-groups) the user is linked to.

## About Marlin GTX

The login Window also provides **key information** about the GTX system:

- **Company Name:** The configured business name, which will be print on all generated correspondence
- **Application Folder:** The installation path of the Marlin GTX application. This may be local or on a network
- **User:** The licensed workstation currently initiating the login
- **Navigator Version:** The version number of the installed Marlin GTX Navigator
- **System Version:** The [version number](/gtx/docs/release-notes) of the current GTX program
- **Financial Year:** The active financial year the business is currently trading in
- **License Number:** The unique identifier tied to the current Marlin GTX licence
- **Megasign Identity:** The registered business name to which the Marlin GTX licence is issued
- **Access Mode:** Displays the current licence access level:
  - **Active:** Full system access
  - **Read-Only:** Enquiry mode only; no updates permitted

The same information is accessible via **Help > About Marlin GTX** from the main menu after login.

If the system is operating in **Read-Only** mode, please [contact the Megabus Support Team](https://www.megabus.com.au/support) to resolve any licence or access issues.
