# Cash Drawers

{{variable.GTX Bold}} enables you to open the cash drawer without performing a transaction and manage passwords for secure access.

## Open the Cash Drawer Without Performing a Transaction

Select Tools > Open Cash Drawer from the menu toolbar, then enter your Cash Drawer password.

## Change Cash Drawer Password

**To change the Cash Drawer password:**

* Someone with sufficient access privileges (Franchisee/Manager) logs into Marlin GTX
* From the menu, select System > Passwords > Cash Drawer Password
* In the popup, enter the new password (twice) and click on Save button

## Support for Networkable Cash Drawers

Typically, cash drawers can only be accessed from one PC, or two PCs if a Y-cable is installed.

From GTX release 3.4.1, networkable cash drawers are supported.

Any or all PCs on your network can be configured to access a networkable cash drawer, in much the same way as a network printer, with no additional cabling.

Please contact Megabus for information on compatible networkable cash drawers and assistance in configuring Marlin to access them.
